i plan to retaliate against any attack not to start one so any attack performed against Japan will only be a defensive Action to punish them in an appropriate Manner and no more.

I am having trouble focusing on this game, and not wanting to possibly yell at someone, I wish to relinquish my nation currently.

If not I might take South Africa.

So, regarding Heavy's decision to become a republic... I believe that goes directly against what the GM had said, and they have been a dominion for six years, and are preferring British protection due to the Japanese Empire close-by and Sino stability. British India was on its way out by the time the game's background begins to diverge from OTL history. The loss of India was inevitable, but after the Amritsar Massacre the clock was ticking even more rapidly. You will note that India did not leave the Commonwealth, it merely terminated its dominion status. And I am honestly not just going to not do that because you complained. I'm alright with India becoming a Republic, it is inevitable but they wouldn't throw out the Commonwealth Accords. Good trade and defense deals that they wouldn't want to dispense with. Also, new claims are accepted for the UK and Somalia.

I'm sorry, I understand that this is a story you came up with and it is your background, but I am also going to play my nation within the boundaries of what seems reasonably plausible. I will roleplay my nation and do actions I feel are necessary or interesting for either telling a story or because they are something my nation would logically do in a given situation. While obviously mod intervention in serious cases (i.e. completely implausible or ASB actions) are useful, games are also not like theater where a director gets to well, direct his players like actors in a play.

Sidheach are you sure you wanna star a war over Hainan? A war I am sure the American people nor the Congress will want?

Listen what would you do if they came out there and asked for you to cede California would you accept it?

You just pointed out yourself that Japan could survive an embargo for years. So it is no point. And if you attack Japan you will be seen as the aggressor.

You have no casus belli to begin with. And Congress will impeach Nixon as soon as you start a war for no reason. If you feel that's the case then you can feel that's the case. Meanwhile I'll just be moving military assets to all these neat little bases people are giving me.

id like to see congress impeach a president over starting a war, as long as he doesn't "break" the constitution doing so, and doesn't lie about the reasoning , its not an impeachable offense. He just commits political suicide.

He just commits political suicide. And even then, in the current climate, I think Tricky Dick would be more then capable of framing it in such a fashion that he walks out squeaky clean so long as he doesn't lose the war.

I agree. this wouldnt really be any different than the Korean War, or the Vietnam War.... as long as you win, it looks great to people.
