Secret: That sounds like something we'd greatly appreciate... Secret:We thought you might, especially given you need a little economical nudge in the right direction to ensure that China is unified down the track, and we're more then happy to do what we can to help. Now the investments will go on as they go on, we can only encourage as opposed to direct, but weapons wise, we just need a shopping list from you. Secret: This is all very appreciated-right now, we're not looking to buy large quantities of weapons, as funds are needed for financing economic growth. What we really would like are American advisers for our army, navy, and air force. We are, however, interested in a formal alliance with the United States-under your defense umbrella, the Communist menace wouldn't dare challenge us. It would be a great victory, both symbolic and practical, for the global movement against radical leftism.

The Dominion of India- 1960
Name: The Republic of India
Head of State: Deputy Prime Minister Aravind Amar (Popular Front)
Head of Government: Prime Minister Venkatraman Khatree (Hindustan United)
Type of Government: Parliamentary Republic
Population: 442,239,876
Capital: Delhi
Domestic:
Fulfilling a long-delayed election promise to resolve the long-stalled process of India's political status, the Hindustan United Party (Far Right) in coalition with the Popular Front (Center-Right), referendum is carried out on a nationwide level demonstrated almost unanimous support for the immediate and unconditional termination of India's loathed dominion status. The government passed legislation declaring the creation of the Republic of India shortly afterward. A spokesman on behalf of Hindustan United gave no comment as to whether this was the beginning of a larger withdrawal from the Commonwealth and the British sphere of influence as a whole. Public opinion regarding the continuation of existing arrangements with the wider Commonwealth and particularly with former colonial ruler, Britain, remain ambiguous and divided.
Sara Najam, a spokeswoman for the All-Indian Muslim League (a political descendant of the original Muslim League), expressed support for the resolution but condemned an alleged "act of Hindu exclusion" wherein no delegates from the Muslim League were invited to participate in celebrations of the declaration of the Republic of India. The All-Muslim Council, the leadership body of the Muslim League, voted 6-2 in favor of condemning the move by Hindustan.
The Cochin Talks:
Negotiations with the Maharajah of Mysore have once again stalled when the Maharajah refused to accept compromise terms outlining the peaceful integration of the former princely state as a full-functioning part of India. As the process of full integration of the princely states continues to stall in Hyderabad and Rajputania, and secessionist tensions in Bengal, primarily instigated by the Bengali People's Revolutionary Socialist Party, continue to flare up, the current ominous specter of Hindu-Muslim tensions adds an extra wrinkle to the problem of the ongoing nation-building process in India.
Internal Problems:
-Hindu-Muslim tensions
- Separatism in Bengal
- 400 million people... and growing.
Economic Status:
-Paradoxical: Punjab and many parts of the northwest are extremely wealthy, and the port of Karachi has come into its own as a major transit hub for outbound Middle Eastern oil, but many parts of the country, particularly in the south and northeast are facing extreme issues with poverty and deprivation. A brutal typhoon has recently ravaged Bengal, and the incompetent response of Delhi to a widespread cholera epidemic in the wake of the typhoon hitting Bengal has caused many to question the ability of the central government.
Army:
2,000,000 Active
Navy:
-Large, regionally-capable and one of the most modern parts of the Indian military force.
Air Force:
-Smaller, and more sparsely-equipped, India's airforce is undergoing modernization, but this is a slow and expensive process in a nation that is already working hard to make ends meet in other areas
Alliances, Agreements, Pacts, and Trade:
Member of the Commonwealth as well as the Commonwealth Defense
Diplomacy:
To: Britain
From: The Republic of India
Yeah, we're done being treated as subservient to London.
We view the relations of trade that have been established between ourselves and the various member-states of the Commonwealth as of value to our nation and people, however this continued relationship of father to wayward son cannot continue. There are at least 10 Indians for every Briton, if not more. We seek treatment as equals, as well as a redress for the harm inflicted upon our country by decades of mismanagement, exploitation, and colonial mischief.
Therefore, we have prepared a list proposing the following:
-Britain will grant a moderate subsidy to Indian-descended peoples in current or former British colonies and/or mainland British territory that wish to return from abroad to their country of origin.
-Negotiations begin between the British government and the Indian government regarding the territorial administration of the Maldives. Similar issues are present with regards to the current Omani administration of Gwadar. As the British government holds cordial relations with the government of Oman, it is the government of India's belief that Britain is in a position to negotiate for the fair and free return of rightful Indian territory held by Oman.
-Any British military presence in India is hereby limited to a maximum increment of 5 years. Obviously once these increments expire they can be renegotiated.
To: Portugal
From: The Republic of India
We are going to give you precisely the respect you have always afforded to the Indian residents of your enclave in Goa.
Therefore, since it only seems fair that we get to play the game of "King orders, subject obeys" like you have been for the past few centuries, we are issuing an ultimatum: withdraw from Goa peacefully and in full, or you will be removed by force.
We have no desire to shed blood, nor to harm the innocent Indian people kept in Goa against their will, but Portugal's mandate over the colony has ended, and as the lawful government of all India, this nation will not tolerate the continued enslavement of Indian people to the shackles of Portuguese colonialism.
To: Japan
From: India
We would like to discuss the Andoman and Nicobar Islands

To: General Statement From: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
We recognize the new Indian Government and their right to self-determination.
We would also like to take this time to call for a processes of de-colonization by the colonial powers of Africa, namely; the French Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland.
The People of Africa have a right to self-determination and independence as much as India does.
To: United States of America From: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Confidential:
We know we have some dis-agreements, but you can atleast see the sense of de-colonizing Africa, correct?
So, if you could issue a statement similar to ours, it would go a long way in improving our relations.

Estados Unidos Mexicanos- 1960 Name: United Mexican States Head of State: Adolfo López Mateos (PRI) Head of Government: idem Type of Government: Federal Republic Population: 34,994,000 Capital: Mexico City Largest City: idem DomesticInternal Events:-A few years ago, Mexico and Guatemala almost went to war. The cause was because Guatemala unlawfully claimed Mexican territorial waters as their own, and to that purpose, it strafed Mexican fishing boats. War was avoided by a narrow margin, but it left in evidence that the Mexican Air Force was in terrible shape and in no way to defend the skies of the country. -The government council has gone for a different strategy to oppose communism: embrace whatever is "good" from them, and leave out the questionable ones. To this purpose, a series of public works have started, such as the establishment of museums, infrastructures, new roads, and above all, the country's first social security and welfare system, the ISSSTE, which will provide accessible healthcare to the workers. -Last year, famed writer and philosopher José Vasconcelos died in Mexico City. He was a close friend of President López Mateos, and he is the intellectual mastermind behind the creation of the Public Education Secretariat, which ensured that all of the Mexican children would get free education. Internal Problems:-Communists inciting general strikes -Synarchists angry because there was no war against Guatemala. -Roads to the northern parts of the country are still in a state of disrepair. Economic Status:-Good (In spite of these problems, the economy is growing, with infrastructure and social programs yielding a lot of positive results) Military-All military information not dealing with the numbers themselves goes here... National Anthem: "The Star-Spangled Banner"National Motto: "In God we trust"Official Language: American Currency: American dollar Domestic Events:The 1960 Presidential Elections
or
How Nixon Aroo'd to the TopThe 1960 Elections can be considered one of the most scandal ridden elections in American history to date, with unexpected revelations and several press leaks contributing to the less the savoury backdrop to the election. On the Democratic side stood Senator John F. Kennedy, a relatively young man possessed with ample quantities of charisma that put him in good stead with the public, with his Vice Presidential Candidate, Lyndon B. Johnson. On the other side, standing for the Republicans, was Richard Nixon, the current Vice President and a man far more experienced then his opponent, and his VP Candidate, Nelson Rockefeller. By all accounts the race would be close, although many pundits gave Nixon the edge, as these two popular men went head to head in the race to the top. With both candidates initially polling at similar levels, mere percentage points separating the two candidates, it would seemingly take a miracle for one side to pull ahead of the other. This miracle would come in the form of a baby as former recipient of the Senator's affections came forward and publicly called upon John F. Kennedy to " [T]ake responsibility for his bastard." With that one simple accusation, Kenndy's popularity took a beating as the public recoiled from the sudden accusation, true or not, and it was an opportunity noticed by Nixon. Suddenly faced with the opportunity to attack Kennedy from a new front, Nixon brought his wife and daughters on his whirlwind tour as he painted himself as the responsible candidate who stood for traditional family values while also launching a series of scathing attacks at Kennedy over the revelations. Combined with a very efficient campaign capitalising on Eisenhower's popularity and Rockefeller's competency, Nixon began to pull ahead in the polls as Kennedy struggled to close the gap between them. However it was apparent to many pundits that as the elections drew closer and closer that the damage was done and that Nixon would win, albeit by the skin of his teeth, unless a satellite landed on him before the votes were tallied. When the votes finally were tallied, amidst a great deal of nail biting and, in Kenndy's case, arguments with significant others, the result would be a resounding victory for Nixon as the Republican pulled well ahead of Kennedy both in the Popular Vote and in the Electoral College. "Oh yeah, the nation is mine." The Civil Rights Movement continues to steam ahead in the United States regardless of how the Election Campaign chooses to proceed. With civil rights marches, flowery speeches, and, on occasion, violent crimes, all occurring with the ultimate goal of gaining equality for all of the United States' citizens as opposed to a chosen, white, few. At the forefront of the movement stands Martin Luther King Jr., a Reverend and civil rights leader, who, while leading a civil rights march, was arrested in Georgia during the election campaign. What would seem to be a unjust blow to the movement, however, would turn out to be political gain for Nixon when, under advisement from his campaign staff, the Presidential candidate quickly moved to pull the strings necessary to have the civil rights leader released from jail before ringing MLK's father and wife to personally inform them of his release. The move would pay dividends for Nixon when, as a result of Nixon's actions, Martin Luther King Jr.'s father would publicly endorse the Vice President and subsequently improve his standing in the African American community and, in turn, assist him in winning states such as Illinois, New Jersey, and South Carolina. Nixon meeting Martin Luther King Jr. shortly after his release. In response to the growing strength of Fascist and Communist regimes across the globe, President Eisenhower authorises the strengthening of relations with states believed to be vital to holding back " insidious influences" in the world. As a result, the Congo and the Republic of China, both find themselves on the receiving end of investment, weapons, and, in the Congo's case, military advisers in the name of preserving 'democracy'. As well as this, after negotiations with the Chinese Leader, President Eisenhower announces to the American Public that the "Sino-American Freedom Pact" had been officially forged between the USA and the ROC in the interest of preserving peace and all related jazz. The Freedom Pact entails a full military alliance, more or less, with the United States officially extending its 'nuclear umbrella' to encompass the Chinese Nation until such a time it developed its own, defensive, nuclear weapons, a point which technically wasn't voiced but instead implied. The announcement is considered by many political commentators to be the fail nail in the coffin for the old isolationist policies with both Eisenhower and President-Elect Nixon being wholly committed to asserting the United States as a world power on par with and exceeding its ideological counterparts. Eisenhower making the address to the nation. Domestic Issues:- Nazis
- Communists
- People meddling in our backyard...
- Ever present threat of nuclear war
United States MilitaryUnited States ArmyUnited States NavyUnited States Air ForceAlliances/Pacts/Agreements:[/b] Allied Nations Basing Rights in the Congo Sino-American Freedom Pact Diplomacy:From the United States To LiberiaLong time no chat, African buddies. How would you like some investments, eh? SecretWe're also requesting the right to base troops in your nation in exchange for assisting you in modernising your army and ensuring their up to scratch. From the United States To AustraliaHello to our friends 'down under', get it, because you're under us and upside down *chuckles galore*, we hope things are proceeding smoothly down there. SecretWe feel greater military cooperation between our two nations is vital due to your strategic positioning in South East Asia. So what do you say to the thought? From the United States To France and Indochinese RebelsWe'd be willing to mediate a bloodless end to the conflict. We're cool like that. From the United States To the Soviet Union SecretHmm... From the United States General Statement*Stares at the Soviets* While we believe in the right to self-determination, we also recognise the monumental idiocy in simply yanking out without a well planned process to ensure all those states created in the wake of France and Britain's withdrawal enter the world as well functioning democratic nations. However it is up to those colonising powers to come to the table for such a process to begin as opposed to powers unaware of the, no doubt intricate, workings of the African continent forcing the issue while things are still relatively stable. We can only encourage, not force. From the United States To IndiaCongrats on the democratic display and welcome to the 'former-British-colony' club. Here's a jacket and baseball cap as a sign of your entering into this grandoise club. SecretCan we assume your actions are merely the result of a certain distaste for British involvement in your governance as opposed to a sudden push to leave the illustrious collection of the worlds more democratic powers? From the United States To Britain SecretWe advise you to avoid making a fuss over India. This outcome was inevitable given the history between Delhi and London and we can only hope that this doesn't result in India going over to the Fascists or the Communists. Better to grin and bear it as you Brits do so admirably and move on into the future. From the United States To France and Britain SecretLike we said, we're not going to force you to abandon your colonies however we do strongly urge you to begin considering exit strategies. As Somalia is currently demonstrating, the locals aren't going to sit about quietly forever and we would hope that should you both be forced to withdraw from your colonies that you would have plans in place that would see the resulting states emerge with regimes more inclined to find favour with ourselves then with Berlin or Moscow. From the United States To Mexico SecretWe noticed the eery growth of Communism in your nation and we just need to ask if you need a 'hand' in ensuring they don't do anything 'rash'.

Everything's just fine down here. Thanks for asking.
SECRET
We'd be more than happy for an increase in co-operation with regards to military matters. Say; we're in the business for some new hardware - specifically a new carrier sometime in the future. While we still haven't decided on much other than that we are going to acquire/and or build one we do know that the planes on her flight deck will probably be American. If you could inform us what planes you might be able to sell us, that'd be great.
And then there's the matter of our nuclear program. While we've got nuclear capable allies, they are rather far away and we'd like our own deterrent against any nation that might decide that our fair continent would be an awfully nice addition to their empire. What we're asking for is some help with making a small amount of nuclear weapons - we'd be happy to give you some help in exchange for it; though I'm not sure what you'd want in exchange.

However, the next few years that would follow would be anything but peaceful as Goring continued Hitler's dreams of expansion through much more subtle means. A German sponsored Nationalist Revolt in The Netherlands would see a pro-German government installed in The Hague and Europe watched in horror as the Dutch Empire crumbled and joined the likes of Spain and Italy in the Fascist camp. After plundering the economies of it's "freely annexed" territories, Germany began program to realizing Hitler's bombastic dreams of a "Greater German Reich".
Ever since Hitler's death on 17th of March 1938 the new Fuhrer Hermman Goring has adopted a more subtle approach to keep the Reich going while at the same time keeping the dream of Hitler alive.
