To China From Japan The Answer is still no we do not accept moving our citizens from their Homes on Formosa any time Soon the People wish to remain under Japanese Protection so that is unlikely to change for some time if it changes so be it but they wish to remain Japanese so they will remain so for the time being. To United States From Japan What are you talking about. To: Japan From: ChinaIf you're really so convinced that the people of Taiwan want to remain part of Japan, then let's hold a referendum and actually find out, shall we? It'll have to be administered by a neutral party, of course. We suggest the Swedes or the Swiss.

To: Japan From: ChinaThe people of Taiwan do not desire independence, they desire reunification with their Chinese brothers in our republic. "Independence" under a Japanese puppet is no better for them than direct Japanese rule, and we are sure that, if you were to hold a referendum, the people of Taiwan would agree with us. Your fear of seeing this referendum held is, in itself, proof that even you acknowledge that the Taiwanese people desire reintegration with China, and that only through your farces and forces of arms can you keep them under your heel.

We're not even going to dignify the second half of your communique with a response.

Turn 2: 1961 Roll Modifiers:Positive:Republic of Iran: (+5) Due to the successful capture of British oil assets. Republic of China: (+10) Due to the successful negotiation of a resolution to the Hainan question. Republic of India: (+5) Due to your successful break from the Commonwealth and dominion status. This bonus was reduced from +15 due to the Muslim conflicts related to the aforementioned break. Dominon of Canada: (+5) Due to you gaining the Maritime provinces. Negative: Empire of Japan: (-5) Due to your lose of Hainan the military is quite aggravated. Turn Rolls:The Soviet Union: (83) An excellent year for the USSR. Your economy sees a decent surge as industrial production exceeds expectations by a wide margin. On the negative side though rumors are beginning to leek north of Iranian-German correspondence. The United States Of America: (42) Nixon has managed to convince Congress of the need for a strong foot in Asia but the American public is not convinced. For now the media is spinning Nixon in a negative light and are calling the government out on being needlessly imperialistic actions/diplomacy. The Empire Of Japan: (16-5=11) A terrible year for the Empire. Your nation is incredibly upset with your soft handed diplomacy. People are quickly losing faith in the emperor. A coup by the Imperial Army and many top generals are involved. These actions lead to international embarrassment and increased inter-service rivalry as the Navy comes out against the conspirators. In addition to this a small rebellion breaks out in Borneo. It is quickly dealt with but not before the plight of the locals leaks out the Western nations. The Third Reich: (97) An astounding year for the Third Reich. The new government transcends into power easily with almost zero opposition. Partisan dissidence is mostly dealt and a complete media blackout on these matters is achieved. Your economy also improves a good bit which results in even more faith in the government. The Polish Republic: (27) Not a good year for Poland at all. Your economy takes a nose dive and confidence in the government is severely damaged. Slow government action to this only further damages matters. The Third French Republic: (3) What a horrible year for France! Nearly all of Indochina is captured by the rebels and internal support for your rule continues to decrease. Confidence in the government is severally damaged. The opposition parties are expected to easily come into power in the next elections. Conflict also erupts in Algiers when French soldiers and natives clash leaving hundreds dead. Rebellion in Africa could be on the horizon. The Republic Of China: (61+10=71) Your nation is calling for the blood of Japan. The military is just itching to regain Korea as well as Formosa. Some believe a diplomatic solution of any kind will be to the benefit of the Japanese. Victory is on their minds, how could China lose a war? The government has a cooler mind of things and supports a diplomatic solution if possible. The People's Republic Of China: (57) The boost from the USSR manages to seep into your nation a little bit. Your economy sees a slight upturn but nothing spectacular. The Republic Of India: (31+5=36) Conflict between Muslims and Hindus continues to gain ground. Muslims refuse to send delegates to New Delhi for the new government. Many are calling for a 'two India' solution. If not handled gingerly rebellion could occur. The Dominion Of Canada: (100+5=105) A greater year has never befallen Canada. Your government has nearly 90% approval rating and millions of Canadians praise the acquisition of the Maritime provinces. Your economy as a result also sees a large boom. Canada is on cloud 9 right now. The Dominion Of Australia: (78) A good year for Australia. Your populace is generally behind the US and her policy in Asia. Australia could possibly take a few islands from Japan and as a result the military supports it as well. The Kingdom Of Italy: (45) Average year for Italy. Nothing really special happens. Ethiopians are murmuring for independence once again though, for now though they are only murmurs. The Republic Of South Africa: (29) Opposition to apartheid rule continues to expand. You will not be able to keep it up for very much longer. Riots erupt over many urban areas. Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia: (43) Not a bad year but not spectacularly good either. The Republic of Congo: (80) Good year for the Congo. Negotiations with the US has restored some confidence in your government. Your military is completely behind the government and those who oppose it dare not speak out. You can easily launch further reforms in the coming years. Republic of Iran: (86+5=91) Excellent year for Iran. Your nation is happy the imperialistic bonds to UK are broken. Oil production exceeds expectations by 30% this year. Investment is at a near all time high as well. [/img] Attachments:

From the United States of America To Vietnam CC: China Secret
Congrats on the push, we would have convinced France to simply withdraw but they've been eerily quiet. Now, we intend to ship arms and other aid to you but we cannot do so directly. As a result, we will, your differences aside, be directing said weapons and aid through China who will deliver it to you.
While you may dislike the Chinese, we are all brothers in our quest for freedom.
From the United States of America To Japan
We heard about the stuff in Borneo, most Americans did actually, and you will receive the official response of the Nixon Administration through the League of Nations.
From the United States of America To the League of Nations
We're calling for an embargo on the Empire of Japan in light of their continuing atrocities in the Pacific.
From the United States of America To Australia Secret
So we're clear, West Papua will be added to the League Mandate of New Guinea in the event of Japan's withdrawal, regardless of circumstances, along with Timor being turned into a Mandate under Australian Administration.
This fair?
From the United States of America To the Republic of China Secret
Be ready to take action soon.

It is clear that Borneo wishes to no longer be a part of the Japanese Empire - why don't you hold an internationally overseen referendum to see if they wish to leave the Empire?

United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 1962
Name: United Kingdoms of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Head of State: Queen Elizabeth I Head of Government: Prime Minister Harold Macmillan Type of Government: Constitutional Monarchy (Coalition government of Conservative and Progressive Parties) Population: 54,682,000 Capital: London Largest City: London
Domestic
Internal Events: Formation of the Conservative-Progressive coalition - with the politics of Britain effectively split between the Conservative (Lax trade barriers, Large Military, Lasseiz-Faire, Conservative tradition, Britain-Ireland union), Progressive (Little to no trade regulation, decolonization, liberal social views), and Labour (high trade barriers, decolonization, greater social programs) parties, the Conservative and Progressive parties have put aside their differences for the time being and formed a fairly stable coalition government. National Infrastructure Act - In an effort to decrease unemployment while still satisfying Conservative demands, the Government creates the National Infrastructure Corps, a source of work for the unemployed building railways, roads, dams, and other public works. Special attention is given to dams to generate hydroelectric power.
Internal Problems: The slow speed of decolonization is disturbing to Progressives, while the fact that it is happening at all is disturbing to conservatives, threatening the coalition government. Unemployment is rising due to decreasing trade, particularly in industry. The Ireland problem is always brewing...
